Dr. Lindsey Helgen is passionate about orthodontics and is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for her patients. With extensive training and years of hands-on experience, she is a true expert in her specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics
— and is proud to be Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction earned by only a third of practicing orthodontists in the country. Dr. Helgen provides comprehensive orthodontic care with braces and Invisalign and genuinely enjoys treating patients of all ages, from young children to adults.
Background & Training
Dr. Helgen was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. A proud Husky fan since birth, she attended the University of Washington, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then set her sights east, attending the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in Philadelphia for her dental education.
With a passion for orthodontics from an early age, Dr. Helgen was thrilled to be selected for specialty training at Penn, where she earned her Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. She subsequently achieved Board Certification through the American Board of Orthodontics — a rigorous process that reflects her commitment to clinical excellence and lifelong learning.
After completing her training, Dr. Helgen spent 15 years building a trusted orthodontic practice in Redmond, WA, serving hundreds of families across the Eastside community. She is now excited to bring that same expertise and warmth to her new home at Smile Studio NW in Mukilteo.
Giving Back
Dr. Helgen has always believed in giving back. During dental school, she organized blood drives, health fairs, and fundraisers for a variety of charitable causes. Throughout both dental school and her orthodontic residency, she regularly provided dental screenings and oral health education for homeless women and children in the Philadelphia area — a chapter of her life she looks back on with great pride.

Life Outside the Office
When she is not delivering smiles at Smile Studio NW, Dr. Helgen loves making the most of everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She enjoys traveling, hitting the ski slopes, and spending time near the water with her husband Steve and their two children, Charlie and Olivia. As a mom herself, she has a deep appreciation for the families she treats — and
knows firsthand how much a confident smile can mean at every stage of life.
